BUYER-SELLER MEET ON 03rd MARCH 2010


                        
1. A multi product trade delegation from EEPC INDIA representing 19 Companies is visiting Nairobi to explore avenues for increase in trade and commerce between India and Kenya.
2. The delegation represents Indian companies in the sectors of : Pumps, Motors, Drilling rigs, AC/DC Drives, Transformers, Alternators, Electric Panels, Switch Gears Luminaries and lighting fixtures, Automobile  Parts & Accessories ,Wires & Cables, Welding Electrodes, Sheet Metal Components & Stampings, Sanitary Fittings & Pipes, Dairy Machinery, Urban Waste Management Machinery & Equipments, Construction, Food, Plastic & Rubber Machinery, Household & Kitchen Appliances, Heavy Fabrication for Large Industries, Gear boxes, Screw Jacks, Transmission systems, Auto Engine Parts & Fuel injection systems of Automobiles.

3. The delegation members would like to interact with their matching companies in Kenya and trade organizations and associations for developing business relationships in their respective sectors.

4. The EEPC delegation intends to host a Buyer – Seller Meet on Monday the 3rd March 2010 from 09.00 AM to 5.00 PM at Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Lenana Conference Room

PRAVASI BHARATIYA DIVAS 2010

1. The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) is organizing the Eighth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi from January 7-9, 2010. This important annual event will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister and the valedictory address will be delivered by Hon’ble Vice President.

2. During the PBD celebrations. Indians from all over the world exchange thoughts and ideas on issues related to the progress of India and the role of NRIs and PIOs in the same. Our aim is to develop a meaningful interaction with the Indian Diaspora and thus enabling the inflows of their expertise and knowledge and integrating the same into our development strategies. On its part, the Government of India honours overseas Indians for their contribution on the development of India.

Seminar on Property Related Issues of NRIs/PIOs

        The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs is in receipt of several references from NRIs/PIOs on property related issues e.g. illegal occupation of land/flats/apartments/houses by unscrupulous persons, delayed handing over of the promised flats/apartments by builders/realtors/property dealers, delay in the settlement of related court cases.

2.     A seminar to discuss these and other facets of the property related issues of NRIs/PIOs is being organized on 7th January 2010 from 1000 - 1300 hrs at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on the sidelines of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention – 2010 in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Discussions at this Seminar would cover the role of different government agencies/private enterprises, measures to prevent such disputes/problems, speedy disposal by way of setting up of fast track courts etc.

3.     The Seminar would be open to delegates registered for the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention – 2010 being held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on 7-9 January 2010


SECURITY   SITUATION UPDATE FOR FOREIGN TOURISTS

There  have  been   security  concerns    on  account  of  terror  strikes  in  Mumbai.    The  Indian  Security forces   are in  control    and  the situation  is  being  constantly  monitored  at  the  highest  level.  Central  Security  Agencies  and  the  State  Government  have  also  acted  swiftly  and  the  security  all  over  the  country  is  being  beefed  up  to  ensure  the  safety  of  all  the  citizens  and  tourists  visiting  the  country.   

Ministry  of  Tourism  and  the  Tour  Operators  along with the hotels  are  also  closely  co-coordinating   and   assure  travelers  that   India  is  a  safe  destination.  India  is a large  nation  and  an  incident  in   one  place  does  not  impact  tourism  and  day - today  life  in  the  rest  of  the  country.  There  is  normal  buoyancy  in  tourism   and   business  in the  rest  of  the  country.  


News Service Division of All India Radio 

The All India Radio, which reaches out to millions of listeners through Home, Regional, External and DTH services, has recently launched a website for its News Service Division:

www.newsonair.nic.in/ www.newsonair.com.

The website is multi-lingual in character. Visitors can listen to news programmes not only in English and Hindi but 16 other regional languages. Scripts of news bulletins are available in 8 language scripts. Audio of special programmes mounted by NSD including news features and special broadcasts are also made available.
