India Mobile Congress-2017 

             The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, in collaboration with Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and other stakeholders, is hosting the first edition of an international event titled, “India Mobile Congress-2017 (IMC-2017)” fromSeptember 27-29, 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. 

             The IMC 2017 is the first ever and single largest event comprising knowledge sharing, policy & regulatory readdressing, exhibition, awards and skill harmonization. It will be the flagship event which will bring together Governments, Industries, Associations, Academia, Start-ups, Entrepreneurs, Application Developers, Skill Promoters and other important stakeholders under one roof.  Government of India has started several public programmes schemes like Digital India, Make in India, Start Up India, Skill India etc. which are aimed at transforming India into digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The pace of technological change has created immense opportunities for the industry and its stakeholders. The growth and availability of affordable devices, availability of content on demand has given rise to a huge demand for data.  The emergence of newer areas such as Internet of Things and the need for cyber security, given millions of connected devices, has created immense opportunities for the industry.  This is a rare opportunity to any country, their government and industry to be present in the event hosted by Government of India in partnership with the telecom operators and supported by all stakeholders like Manufacturers, Research & Development Companies, Academia etc.
